A History of the Gifford “Tigers” Youth Orchestra

Good Will Ambassadors from Gifford Florida

Our Motto has always been and will always be

“Each One Teach One”

 Our Slogan is

"Move Violins ~ Less Violence"

If Annie Powell had not said, "Our kids are being left behind," there would be no Gifford Youth Orchestra!

It was Annie's idea that Gifford children were being left behind because there were none in the Indian River Youth Symphony Orchestra. Inspired by Annie's desire, Crystal Bujol decided to create a GIFFORD Youth Orchetra! Rachael Pinkney became one of the team members, along with Suzy Bode. Shown here are Annie Powell (l) and Rachael PInkney (r).

The history/story about the GYO is being written.  It will be about the involvement and suport of:

Annie Powell

Rachael Pinkney

Give Away Fund Raising Event

ABOUT THIS EVENT

The Treasure Coast Rotary Club is sponsoring a fund raising event for the Gifford Youth Orchestra.  Not only are they hoping you will come to enjoy the good foods, but also to have fun and make new friends.

We hope you will put this date on your calendar.

Not only are you invited to attend, but we ask you to help us give some other child in our community an opportunity to attend, as well.  We will have all different kinds of food, and those big jumping play things, and water slides, and fun things for kids to enjoy.  But there are some children in Indian River County who may not have $5.00 for this event.   If you would purchase 2 tickest for yourself and two tickets for the children, we would give your extra tickets to children from:

  • The Samaritan House that provides food and shelter to families,
  • The Hisbicus Children's Home that provides food, shelter, and protection to children,
  • The Feed the Lambs Project that offers food and tutoring to children
  • The Gifford Youth Activity Center that gives camps & after school      education,
  • The Youth Guidance Center that provides mentoring to children, or
  • Any one of the several other Indian River County programs for children.

The above flyer will give you additional information and phone numbers.  Please call or email (roofrepairsonly@aol.com) or call at (772-562-7663) to let us know how many tickets you would like for us to mail to you ... or we can even hold them hold for you at the will call table.  We will be happy to let some of the children in the above programs know that you have donated tickets for them, as well!

Thank you in advance for your support and for helping us spread the word.
